The first installment in this series established the most awesome things said in the English language, ever, with seven fine entrants.

Today we have our first addition, number 8 on the list, and once again it's from awesome quote legend Doctor Doom. Get a load of this:

#8. DOCTOR DOOM: "You insufferable--unspeakable blot on the escutcheon of humanity--prepare to meet the fate you so sorely deserve!!"

Holy crap. There ain't no comeback for that, folks.

(And yeah, that's Doctor Doom flying on a surfboard. It's a long story.)

That is just fantastic - and people wonder why I always cheer for the bad guys. Any response to that is just going to sound pathetic, like the comebacks kids use - 'It takes one to know one' or 'I know you are but what am I?'

Nina - the only acceptable comeback that could possibly work is a punch in the face/eyes/throat. Anything else is completely insufficient.

Cibbuano - am I to assume you use 'escutcheon' in everyday conversation?

Doom, in typical Doom fashion, has stolen the Surfer's Power Cosmic in this story, and that's why he's flying around on the board.

As for Iceman, I'm a massive X-Men nerd so I must agree. He's not one of my absolute favourites, but he's still a character with a lot of underutilised potential.
