Many are the awesome things that have been spoken in the English language. But can any of them top the majesty, the sheer bombasticity, of Blastaar, the Living Bomb-Burst?
Now admittedly this panel (from Uncanny X-Men #54) is nothing to write home about, and there's a whole lot of dialogue from Blastaar in there. For a guy who does little more than blast people with energy beams from his hands, he sure is a wordy guy. But it's the ending you need to watch out for.
BLASTAAR: "Blah blah blah--with my own natural ability to propel myself thru space by emitting energy directly from my body! A living rocket -- AIMED AT YOUR VITALS!"
Holy crap! As if a living rocket isn't bad enough - think of the agony involved when it's AIMED AT YOUR VITALS! (Yes, I absolutely must type that in capitals every time.)
Try it out on friends and co-workers.
"I'll send you an e-mail tonight - AIMED AT YOUR VITALS!"
"The caterer is bringing some turkey - AIMED AT YOUR VITALS!"
"I love you honey - AIMED AT YOUR VITALS!"
It truly is a phrase for all occasions.
